Animals

When the Junior Zookeeper program started, it was only geared toward kids from 9-11. That's why our Junior Zookeeper camps are the "classic" experience. They're the mold we use for all other weeks! The Junior Zookeeper program is designed to introduce kids to basic zookeeping and animal care while digging deeper into the science concepts they learn in their traditional classrooms.

Activities
Each Junior Zookeeper day includes crafts, games, supervised volunteer time, and a variety of hands-on classes. Classes include Zookeeper 101, where they learn skills like enrichment and habitat design; Animals in Focus, where they touch and learn about animals at the zoo; Science 101, where they participate in hands-on lessons in the environment and biology; and special classes from guest speakers on native wildlife, birds of prey, and veterinary science.

Cost
Individual Junior Zookeeper days are $50/day and run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A full week is $200/week.

Graduation
On the final day of camp, parents and families are invited to participate in a special "graduation" ceremony for their new zookeepers. At 3:00 p.m. we'll be hosting light refreshments while the kids receive their certificates. Then, they can show you around the farm to show off what they've learned!

Junior Zookeepers will also receive invitations to volunteer at Noah's Landing events throughout the year to continue their interaction at the farm.
