Junior Zookeeper days can often be long and exhausting for our youngest campers. That's one big lesson we learned during our early days. That's why we launched the Junior Explorer program, a special day camp for kids from 6-8 years old. Junior Explorers can choose to attend for a traditional camp day or for a half day. (From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
Activities
Junior Explorer days are filled with activity and interaction - designed to keep young minds engaged throughout the day. Campers participate in crafts, games, and hands-on science classes like owl pellet dissection. They also build enrichment for the animals and pitch in for supervised volunteer time. Throughout the week, they have visits from guest speakers such as veterinarians and wildlife officers.
Cost
Individual Junior Explorer days cost $35/half day and $50/full day. A full week of camp is $200/full day and $150/half day. This cost covers their T-shirt and class materials.
Graduation
On the final day of camp, parents and families are invited to participate in a special "graduation" ceremony for their new explorers. At 3:00 p.m. we'll be hosting light refreshments while the kids receive their certificates. Then, they can show you around the farm to show off what they've learned!
Junior Explorers will also receive invitations to volunteer at Noah's Landing events throughout the year to continue their interaction at the farm.
